About the Role
We are looking for an Urban Designer with up to three years' professional experience to join DesignTomorrow's London studio. You will work alongside senior designers on mixed-use, masterplanning, and public-realm projects across the GCC and UK, contributing to all stages of the design process, from early visioning and site analysis through to detailed design development.
This is a hands-on studio role suited to someone who thinks spatially, communicates clearly through drawings and diagrams, and is eager to develop their skills within a design-led practice working at the intersection of architecture and urbanism.
Requirements
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Urban Design, Urbanism, Architecture, or a related discipline
- Up to 3 years' professional experience in urban design, masterplanning, or a closely related field (strong Part II or MUrb graduates with quality placement experience are welcome to apply)
- Sound understanding of urban design principles, including land use, movement, density, and public realm
- Confident in Rhino, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; GIS or parametric tools are a plus
- Ability to produce clear, well-composed drawings, diagrams, and presentation material
- Good analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- A genuine interest in placemaking, city-scale thinking, and the relationship between design and policy
- Exposure to or interest in working on international and multidisciplinary projects
Responsibilities
- Support senior designers in developing masterplan and urban design proposals across a range of scales and typologies
- Prepare site analysis, precedent research, and design studies to inform project direction
- Produce drawings, diagrams, and presentation material to a high standard for client submissions and competitions
- Contribute to design reviews, workshops, and team discussions with well-considered ideas
- Coordinate with other disciplines - architecture, landscape, transport - within the wider project team
- Help maintain project documentation, drawing registers, and design standards
