About the Role

DesignTomorrow is looking for a Graduate Urban Designer to join our London studio. This is a studio-based role for a recent graduate who is passionate about urbanism, placemaking, and the design of cities and ready to put that thinking into practice on live projects.

You will be embedded in the urban design team, working across mixed-use masterplans, public realm strategies, and large-scale development frameworks in the GCC and UK. You will learn on the job from experienced designers while contributing meaningfully to project work from day one. We value curiosity, spatial intelligence, and the ability to communicate ideas through clear, well-crafted drawings.

Requirements

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Urban Design, Urbanism, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline (completed or completing in 2025/2026)
  • A strong academic portfolio demonstrating spatial thinking, design sensibility, and an interest in city-scale work
  • Familiarity with Rhino, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; willingness to develop further software skills on the job
  • Good graphic communication - able to produce clear plans, sections, diagrams, and presentation layouts
  • Strong written and verbal English
  • Genuine curiosity about how cities work - land use, transport, density, public space, and the policies that shape them
  • A collaborative attitude and readiness to learn within a fast-paced, design-led studio

Responsibilities

  • Assist the urban design team in preparing masterplan and public realm proposals at various stages of development
  • Carry out site analysis, mapping, precedent research, and policy reviews to support design decision-making
  • Produce plans, sections, axonometrics, diagrams, and rendered visuals for client presentations and competition entries
  • Participate in internal design reviews and contribute ideas during team workshops and pin-ups
  • Help prepare project reports, design statements, and planning submission material
  • Support the team with drawing coordination, model-making, and day-to-day project administration
